Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) - Oregon, Missouri

Job Description

• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
• Utilize evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.
• Administer procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices.
• Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly.
• Report treatment outcomes and provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers.
• Document all required clinical and regulatory information in the electronic documentation system.
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, and required trainings.
• Support and supervise students under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist.
• Adhere to NBCOT, AOTA, and State practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics.
• Obtain necessary Durable Medical Equipment (DME) or supplies as needed.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of OTA experience (higher experience requirement confirmed).
• Setting Experience: LTC (Long-Term Care) or SNF (Skilled Nursing Facility) experience required.
• Licensure: Active OTA license for Missouri (Compact license allowed).
• New Graduates: Accepted if Level II fieldwork experience completed (Level I observation experience alone is not sufficient).

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• 8-hour shifts, Night Shift (NBO)
• 1.25x pay for OT, holidays, and call back (information for recruiter reference only)

This position is suitable for Occupational Therapy Assistants with at least 1 year of experience, preferably with LTC or SNF background, holding a valid Missouri OTA license, and comfortable working under supervision in a clinical rehabilitation setting.
