Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Shift: Weekend Shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- Hours: 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
- Call Requirement: 3-4 call shifts in a 6-week period, with at least one call shift on a weekend
- Experience Required: Strong experience in Pediatrics (Peds), Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT), and Plastics
- Certifications Required:
- AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) for certain units
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) for pediatric units
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) for NICU and Pediatrics as applicable
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) for ER/ED and Pediatric ER travelers
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) or equivalent for ER/ED, Pediatric ER, and Behavioral Health
- Other certifications as applicable to unit and specialty (e.g., STABLE for L&D and NICU, EFM for applicable roles)
Experience & Requirements

- Immunizations and titers: TB test, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu vaccine or exemption
- Drug screening within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Respirator fit test completed onsite during orientation
- Competency Exams:
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required annually for positions dispensing medication
- Color blindness testing for ED, Pediatric ER, and lab techs
- Core Parts I, II, and III competency exams required annually
- Testing:
- Pre-assignment testing including medication and arrhythmia tests (pass/fail with 2 attempts)
- EKG practice and study guides provided for applicable roles
- Orientation:
- Online orientation modules must be completed within 72 hours of assignment
- 16 hours of non-billable orientation onsite
- Documentation:
- Valid driver's license required for computer access and must be carried on duty
- Badge photo required with specific guidelines (passport style, no filters, light background)
- Education verification and highest level of education documentation required
- Various facility-specific compliance checklists and acknowledgments must be completed

- The facility is latex-free; candidates with latex allergies are acceptable.
- Floating policy must be signed by all clinical candidates.
- Medication and arrhythmia tests are time-sensitive and must be completed as instructed to avoid cancellation.
- Certifications must be current and cannot expire within 30 days of the assignment start date. Proof of completion alone is not accepted; actual certification cards are required.
