Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Specialty: Registered Nurse (Rehab Nights)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Open to first-time travelers (no prior travel experience required)

Work Schedule

• Night shifts in a rehabilitation setting
• Option to work either 36 or 48 hours per week

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as applicable
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) as applicable
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) as applicable
• CHEMO certification as applicable
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) as applicable
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) as applicable
• NIH Stroke Certification as applicable (expires annually)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) as applicable

Licensure and Verification

• Primary source online verification of state nursing license required
• NURSYS verification required for RN licenses
• Education verification required (highest level of education must be verified)

Background and Compliance Checks

• 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
• Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
• Work history verification for the past 7 years required

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, must be renewed annually
• Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• TB questionnaire for positive TB results, renewed annually
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
• Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
• Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required

Competency Requirements

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% score or meet Angoff score)
• Color blind testing (online version acceptable)
• Competency exams as applicable to profession (minimum 80% or meet Angoff score)
• Annual core testing or signed HIPAA form for subcontractors

• Clear headshot photo for badge
• Driver’s license or state ID required
• Completion of employment application/resume
• Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement and HIPAA compliance

This position offers a travel nursing opportunity in a rehabilitation hospital setting with a focus on night shifts. It is suitable for nurses with at least one year of experience and those new to travel nursing. Compliance with extensive health, background, and competency requirements is mandatory.
