Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Work Restrictions: No more than 5 consecutive days worked in a row
• Holidays: Typically on a rotation basis
• Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted; prior travel experience not required

Required Qualifications

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• Education: In-person education accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited through CHEA
• Licensure: Indiana (IN) license required and must be in hand to submit
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only, RQI acceptable
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only, RQI acceptable
  • NBRC RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
• COVID & Flu Vaccines: Required

Important Notes

• Effective 11/30/2024, Indiana RNs are generally not allowed to work at this facility except for Perioperative/OR, Allied, and Ambulatory RN travelers (including ENDO, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, SDS).
• Locals are accepted for this position.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background Checks: Must include 7 years of residence/work history, SSN trace, county and statewide criminal checks, national sex offender registry, FACIS Level III, and education verification.
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start date (no instant tests).
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 12 months (specific approved respirators required)
  • Immunizations and titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred but not required)
  • TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required (no declinations accepted)
• Competency Exams: Medication/pharmacology competency exam (not required for Techs or RRTs), unit competency exam, color blindness testing (Ishihara or equivalent)
• References: Minimum 2 references from recent employment verified within 2 years; must be from charge, manager, supervisor, or above (team lead acceptable for Allied)
• Application: Must include 7 years of work history with explanations for gaps of 30 days or more
• Orientation: Completion of facility-specific orientation and compliance forms required prior to start

Summary

This is a travel/contract opportunity for a Respiratory Therapist with at least 2 years of experience, licensed in Indiana, and certified in BLS, ACLS, and NBRC RRT. The position is based in an adult ICU setting with 12-hour shifts and requires COVID and flu vaccinations. First-time travelers are welcome, and locals are accepted.
