Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Clinton, Maryland
Specialty: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele Float)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • 3x12 hour day/night rotating shifts (0700-1930 & 1900-0730)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Float within skillset/acuity required
  • Community hospital experience required

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • Prior travel experience required (must have completed at least 1 prior travel contract)

Certifications & Exams

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required (AHA or ARC)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) recommended
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required if working in ED or Pediatrics
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) as required by unit
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) as required by unit
  • NIH Stroke Certification required for MS/Tele and ICU units
  • Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam:
    • Minimum overall score of 80%
    • 100% score on lethal rhythms section
    • Must be completed within 1 year of start and updated annually

Required Competencies

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (score 80% or higher within 3 years)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (Relias Dysrhythmia Basics A exam)
  • Color Blind Testing (online or in-person)
  • Competency Exam (score 80% or higher within 3 years)

Licensure & Documentation

  • Valid state nursing license required prior to start
  • Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
  • Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps
  • Skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually

Background & Health Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 90 days of start (including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required prior to start and monthly thereafter
  • Education verification of highest degree required by position
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana) and updated annually
  • Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
  • Immunizations and documentation required:
    • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within last year (or annual questionnaire if prior positive)
    • Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccines or positive titers
    • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccines or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season

Additional Notes

  • Locals within 60 miles may be accepted at a lower rate
  • Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function
  • Facility-specific orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required annually
  • Completion of facility modules (SITELS) prior to start date required

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with prior travel experience looking to work in a community hospital setting with MS/Tele float responsibilities.
