Description

Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (Travel/Contract)

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Role: Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT accepted)
  • Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, 1900-0730
  • Schedule: Every other weekend required
  • No call or float requirement
  • Locals within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate

Requirements

Licensure & Certifications

  • State license required prior to start
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required (AHA or ARC)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) recommended to review
  • Other certifications may be required based on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC) depending on assignment
  • Tech Certification verification required based on profession/state

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics specialty
  • First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience not required)

Background & Compliance

  • Criminal background check within 90 days, including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required prior to start and monthly thereafter
  • Education verification for highest degree required by position
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), updated annually
  • Physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray (updated annually)
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
    • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
    • Varicella documentation or titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season

Competencies & Testing

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required within 3 years, passing score 80%+
  • Color blindness testing required (online or in-person)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for RNs in specific units (not applicable here unless cross-assigned)
  • Skills checklist and work history verification required prior to start and updated annually

Documentation & Onboarding

  • Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps
  • Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
  • Facility-specific modules (SITELS) must be completed before hire date
  • Photo for badge with specific requirements (clear, centered, no glare, solid background)
  • I9/E-Verify attestation required
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required annually

Additional Notes

  • Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function
  • No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers are welcome
  • Locals within 60 miles may be eligible for different pay rates (not included here)
