Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Clinton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Position: IMC Registered Nurse
  • Shift: 1900-0730 (3x12 hour shifts)
  • Schedule: Every other weekend required
  • Float: ICU and Med Surg as needed
  • Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
  • Specialty Experience: MS/Tele and Cardiac Tele experience required
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)

Certifications & Exams Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required for MS/Tele and ICU units
  • Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam:
    • Minimum overall score of 80%
    • 100% score on lethal rhythms section
  • Other certifications may be required based on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM)

Competency Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher within 3 years)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (Relias Dysrhythmia Basics A exam) with annual updates
  • Color Blind Testing (online or in-person)

Health & Background Requirements

  • Criminal Background Check within 90 days, including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start and monthly thereafter
  • Education Verification of highest degree required by position
  • Physical Exam: Annual, signed by MD, PA, NP, or DO, confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
  • Drug Screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), includes multiple substances; must be updated annually
  • Immunizations and Titers:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual updates required)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
    • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
    • Varicella documentation or titer
  • Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (09/23 - 03/31)

Documentation & Compliance

  • Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
  • Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
  • Skills checklist and work history verification required prior to start and updated annually
  • Valid state nursing license required prior to start
  • Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function

Additional Notes

  • Locals within 60 miles may be accepted at a different rate
  • Candidate must complete facility-specific modules and attestations prior to start
  • Annual safety manual acknowledgement required
  • Some units may require additional certifications or competencies based on unit description

This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic IMC setting with a focus on MS/Tele and Cardiac Tele specialties. The role requires strong clinical skills, certification compliance, and the ability to float to ICU and Med Surg units as needed.
