Description
Travel RN Case Manager Opportunity
Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Call Requirements: None
Weekends: Rotating every other weekend
Unit Overview
- Unit types include ICU, Observation, Telemetry, PCU, Neuro, Ortho (varies by assignment)
- Number of beds varies by unit
- Staff includes approximately 15 RNs and 15 Social Workers
- Day shift staff: 18 members with a skill mix; no night shift for this role
- Patient ratio: 1 RN to 30 patients
- Equipment: Computer and office equipment
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Meditech / Midas
- Permanent positions available on the unit
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of bedside case management experience
- Experience with Meditech or HCA systems
- Knowledge of post-acute care
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with throughput processes
- Additional experience with Meditech/Midas or HCA systems
Typical Responsibilities
- Discharge planning and patient progression
- Conducting difficult conversations with patients, families, and physicians regarding plans of care
Work Environment & Culture
- Dress code: Navy scrubs with white lab coat or business casual with white lab coat; closed-toe shoes required; no crocs or fake nails
- Strong, adaptable, and proactive personality preferred to handle challenging conversations
