Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics - Columbus, Ohio

Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Location: Columbus, Ohio


Work Schedule & Requirements

  • No Return to Office (RTO) from 2/22 to 2/28
  • Weekends required
  • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Day Shift)
  • Floating between campuses may be required
  • Patient ratio: Not applicable
  • Equipment used: GE Ventilators

Certifications & Licenses

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification preferred
  • High School Diploma and College Diploma or official transcripts required (Respiratory Therapy program)
  • State License verification required within 30 days of start
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (AHA only)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification may be required depending on unit
  • Other certifications may be required based on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, NIH Stroke Certification) – verify per unit specifics

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
  • Required years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 3 years typical for specialty unless otherwise specified

Background & Compliance

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific code 3701.881)
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
  • Education accreditation verification required immediately after contract signing
  • Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending
  • Confidential Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
  • Ethics and Compliance policies must be reviewed and acknowledged annually

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year; TB questionnaire required annually
  • Immunizations required:
    • Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
    • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella
    • Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemption allowed with documentation)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (new travelers cannot start with pending drug screen)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended; proof of primary vaccination collected if available

Additional Requirements

  • 2 professional references required; at least one must be from a manager/director or formal leadership
  • Employment application and skills checklist required
  • Unit-specific competency exams required, including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams for RNs
  • Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required annually
  • Dress code and hand hygiene policy acknowledgment required
  • Proof of fingerprint completion required for subcontractors

Notes

  • Floating between campuses may be required, so flexibility is important
  • Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory
  • Candidates must be prepared for weekend shifts and 12-hour day shifts
  • Compliance with all background checks, certifications, and health requirements is mandatory for assignment start and continuation
