Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Details

• Position: PACU RN
• Start: ASAP
• Shift: 3x12 and 4x10 evening/night rotation

  • Shift times: 1300-2330 & 1900-0730
• Call: Required Monday-Friday 2300-0700 as needed
• No weekends and no on-call required on weekends
• Locals within 60 miles accepted

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• ICU experience required
• Pediatric PACU, Phase I, Phase II recovery, and Pre-post experience required
• First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
• Other certifications may be required based on unit description (e.g., NRP, TNCC, EFM)

Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher within 3 years)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (specific to ICU and critical care units; must meet score requirements and be updated annually)
• Color Blind Testing (online or in-person acceptable)
• Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher within 3 years)

Licensure & Documentation

• Valid State RN License required prior to start
• Background Check within 90 days including criminal, SSN trace, and statewide searches
• Education Verification of highest degree required
• Drug Screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
• Physical Exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Varicella documentation or titer
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season

Additional Requirements

• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
• Skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually
• Facility-specific modules (SITELS) must be completed before hire date
• Annual safety manual acknowledgement required
• N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete on-site if needed)

Notes

• Call shifts are Monday-Friday only, no weekend call
• Prior travel experience is NOT required for this position
• ICU experience is mandatory
• Pediatric PACU and recovery experience required

This position is ideal for RNs with ICU and pediatric PACU experience looking for a travel contract in Maryland with a 13-week commitment.
