Job Opportunity: Inpatient Pediatric Physical Therapist (Travel/Contract)
Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey

Job Description
- Provide inpatient physical therapy services primarily to pediatric patients (infants, toddlers, school-aged children).
- Patient population age range: 0-21 years.
- Weekend coverage may be required.
- Training provided on specialized equipment including zero G, FES bike, and therapeutic pool.
- First-time travelers accepted.
- Local candidates accepted.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in physical therapy.
- No prior travel experience required.
Licensure & Certifications
- New Jersey State Physical Therapy License required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Background Checks: Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including alias checks and multiple jurisdiction searches.
- Drug Screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam within the last 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as per facility requirements.
- Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually.
- Immunizations or proof of immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap.
- Fit test and respiratory clearance if job tasks require respirator use.
- Latex allergy screening questionnaire if applicable.
- Color blindness exam if job tasks require color discrimination.
Competency & Testing Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required within 72 hours of signing.
- Pass/fail testing for EKG/medications may be required depending on role.
- Skills checklist and work history verification required.
- References: Two references within the last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference.
- Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history required.
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific orientation and safety manuals.
- Acknowledgement of annual education sign-off.
- Compliance with floating policy if switching between sites.
- Completion of any required facility-specific training or attestations prior to start.
Additional Notes
- Candidates must provide government-issued photo ID and proof of residency as required.
- Candidates with name changes must provide documentation to verify legal name consistency across licenses and background checks.
- Candidates must complete all required documentation and clearances prior to start date.
- Facility provides specialized pediatric therapy equipment and training.
