Job Opportunity: Inpatient Pediatric Physical Therapist (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

• Provide inpatient physical therapy services primarily to pediatric patients (infants, toddlers, school-aged children).
• Patient population age range: 0-21 years.
• Weekend coverage may be required.
• Training provided on specialized equipment including zero G, FES bike, and therapeutic pool.
• First-time travelers accepted.
• Local candidates accepted.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in physical therapy.
• No prior travel experience required.

Licensure & Certifications

• New Jersey State Physical Therapy License required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background Checks: Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including alias checks and multiple jurisdiction searches.
• Drug Screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within the last 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as per facility requirements.
  • Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually.
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap.
  • Fit test and respiratory clearance if job tasks require respirator use.
  • Latex allergy screening questionnaire if applicable.
  • Color blindness exam if job tasks require color discrimination.

Competency & Testing Requirements

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required within 72 hours of signing.
• Pass/fail testing for EKG/medications may be required depending on role.
• Skills checklist and work history verification required.
• References: Two references within the last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference.
• Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history required.

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific orientation and safety manuals.
• Acknowledgement of annual education sign-off.
• Compliance with floating policy if switching between sites.
• Completion of any required facility-specific training or attestations prior to start.

• Candidates must provide government-issued photo ID and proof of residency as required.
• Candidates with name changes must provide documentation to verify legal name consistency across licenses and background checks.
