Job Description

Seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to work in Respiratory Care Services. The position primarily focuses on adult care areas and involves collaboration with medical staff, nursing, allied health practitioners, patients, and their families.

  • Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
  • Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday required
  • Attire: Hunter Green scrubs
  • Department: Respiratory Care (24/7 coverage throughout the hospital)

Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Critical Care experience required

Education

  • Minimum: Associate degree in Applied Science or equivalent
  • Area of study: Respiratory Care or NBRC approved registry requirements

Licensure / Certification

  • Valid Ohio Respiratory Care License
  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential through NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care)
  • BLS and ACLS certification through AHA required

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to analyze, prioritize, and evaluate patient needs efficiently
  • Ability to assess, recommend, implement, and modify respiratory care procedures by protocol or physician order
  • Competence in initiating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and weaning patients from respiratory equipment (e.g., mechanical ventilation, BiPAP, medical gas therapy)
  • Completion of all clinical and didactic yearly competencies for assigned clinical areas
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to educate staff, physicians, and patients regarding disease processes, treatments, and medications

Contract Details

  • Employer reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts due to low census during the 13-week contract
  • Agreement may be canceled with 2 weeks' notice without fee or penalty
