Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • NCC C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) acceptable in lieu of AWHONN Advanced certification
• Additional Requirements:

  • May be required to float to other units
  • Prior travel experience preferred (not mandatory)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Licensing:

  • Valid nursing license (Ohio or compact license with residency declaration if from another state)
  • NURSYS verification required
• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific code 3701.881)
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
• Education Verification:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA, or CASN)
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
  • Immunizations/vaccinations:

    • Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (or TB questionnaire)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer
    • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemptions reviewed)
    • Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
• Competency Exams:

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (required prior to start)
  • Unit-specific competency exam
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam within 1 year of start and updated annually (exceptions apply)
• Other Required Documents:

  • Employment application including education
  • Skills checklist
  • References: 2 professional references required, at least one from a manager or formal leadership
  • Annual acknowledgment of dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, and compliance policies
  • Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate (updated annually)
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgment (annual)

Notes

• Fingerprinting must be completed prior to start; results can take 1-2 weeks or longer if done by mail.
• Candidates with contract breaks over 90 days may require new fingerprinting if prior results are older than 1 year.
• Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Candidates must be prepared to comply with all facility-specific policies and documentation requirements.

This position offers a travel/contract opportunity for experienced L&D RNs with strong EPIC skills and required certifications, working night shifts in Columbus, Ohio.
