Job Opportunity: Temporary Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry (Nights)
Location: Claremont, New Hampshire
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- This position covers Medical/Surgical (MS), Telemetry (TELE), and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) specialties. Candidates must be comfortable working across all three areas.
- Experience in Medical/Surgical with cardiac monitoring is required.
- The facility is a small, rural hospital; rural/small facility experience is highly preferred.
- Must be able to work independently and "hit the ground running."
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered.
- Dress code: Personal scrubs of any color.
- Patient population ranges from newborn to geriatric.
- RN to patient ratio: Typically 5:1, with higher acuity PCU patients at 3:1 or 4:1, applicable for both day and night shifts.
- Requested time off (RTO) during the assignment must be submitted and approved upfront; no RTO requests will be approved after submission. Up to 5 days or less of RTO is allowed for this 13-week assignment.
Requirements
- Specialty Experience:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in PCU, Medical/Surgical, and Telemetry nursing.
- Telemetry experience is required.
- Basic dysrhythmia test certification required.
- Licenses & Certifications:
- New Hampshire RN license or Compact license (must be uploaded with profile).
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Active American Heart Association ACLS certification.
- Profile Documentation:
- Skills checklist for Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, and PCU (all current within 1 year).
- One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years of employment.
- Additional Requirements:
- Traveler must have their own vehicle for this assignment.
- Permanent address must be included in profile.
- Prior travel experience is highly preferred but not explicitly required.
- No candidates who plan to work concurrently with another permanent or travel assignment will be considered.
- No schedule accommodations (e.g., block scheduling) will be approved.
Work Environment
- The hospital is a 25-bed general medical and surgical facility with a 24/7 staffed emergency department.
- It is the only such facility in Sullivan County, NH.
- The hospital serves a broad patient population and has undergone recent renovations to improve patient care and facilities.
Summary
This is a 13-week temporary RN position requiring at least 3 years of experience in PCU, Medical/Surgical, and Telemetry nursing, with strong cardiac monitoring skills. Candidates must hold a valid NH RN license or Compact license, current BLS and ACLS certifications, and be comfortable working independently in a small, rural hospital setting. Prior travel experience is highly preferred. Strict adherence to scheduling and time-off policies is required.
