Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) (Days)

Location: Saginaw, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Assess patient needs before and during surgical procedures, maintaining patient safety.
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and document individualized care plans during surgeries.
  • Provide leadership to the OR team and supervise room activities.
  • Coordinate schedule changes and assemble necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Assist anesthesia as needed and monitor the sterile field.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, OR team, supervisors, and ancillary departments.
  • Participate in staff development through preceptorship, in-services, educational meetings, and seminars.

Requirements

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) with Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 3+ years of CVOR experience (required)
  • Additional Experience: Open Heart surgery experience (required)
  • Experience with General, Neuro, and Orthopedic cases is highly preferred
  • Recent travel work history is highly preferred (prior travel experience not explicitly required)
  • Active Michigan RN license (LARA and/or Nursys verification required)
  • Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
  • Skills checklist current to within 1 year, pertinent to CVOR (required)
  • Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years (required)

  • Scrub color: Navy Blue
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Epic

Facility Overview

  • Full-service hospital with 268 beds
  • 24/7 emergency care, Level II trauma center, and Comprehensive Stroke Center
  • Advanced surgical care including structural heart, stroke, spine, cancer, orthopedics, and women’s health
  • Use of minimally invasive surgical procedures with robotic-assisted technology
