Nursing Contract Opportunity - Rockford, Illinois

Qualifications & Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois and Wisconsin
Approved CPR certification required within 90 days
Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification required

Job Description

Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive, holistic nursing care in a clinical setting
Support nursing mission, practice values, and strategic plan
May include variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and/or on-call hours
Perform duties including floating to various units based on clinical competency and needs
Collaborate with multidisciplinary diabetes management team to provide diabetes education to patients and families
Utilize nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in patient care
Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to nursing standards and state laws
Document care according to standards
Develop and execute individualized patient care plans, including patient and family instruction
Participate in department/unit performance improvement and shared governance activities
Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments
Use critical thinking to ensure patient safety and experience, escalating issues appropriately
Participate in professional nursing development processes
Act as a resource for staff on patient education programs and materials
Advocate for patients addressing clinical, psychosocial, and financial issues
