Description

Job Opportunity: CST/ORT - Travel Contract in Austin, Texas

Position Details

Specialty: Certified Surgical Technician (CST) / Operating Room Technician (ORT)
Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Four 10-hour shifts per week (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
Call Requirements: On-call 1 weeknight per week and one weekend per month (weekends on-call rotation)
Target Start Date: ASAP

Unit Information

Unit: Surgery (CVOR - Cardiovascular Operating Room)
Floor: 1st floor
Patient Ratios: 1:1 during night shift
Equipment Used:
- Surgical instruments
- Bovie cautery
- EVH video tower
- Laparoscopic video tower
- Surgical tourniquet
- IABP console
- Impella console
- Cryo system
- Patient warming/cooling system
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Permanent Positions Available: Yes, for CVOR CST (not for CVOR RNs)

CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting)
Aortic/Mitral Valve Repair/Replacement
AAA Endovascular & Open Repair
AV Fistula Creation/Revision/Thrombectomy
HDC (Hemodialysis Catheter)
CAPD (Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis)
BBT (Blood Bank Transfusion)
TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
TMVR (Transcatheter Mitral Valve Repair)
MitraClip procedures

Requirements

Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) Certification
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in CST specialty
Prior Travel Experience: Not specified (assumed not required)
