Job Opportunity: CST/ORT - Travel Contract in Austin, Texas

Position Details

  • Specialty: Certified Surgical Technician (CST) / Operating Room Technician (ORT)
  • Location: Austin, Texas
  • Employment Type: Travel Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Four 10-hour shifts per week (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
  • Call Requirements: On-call 1 weeknight per week and one weekend per month (weekends on-call rotation)
  • Target Start Date: ASAP

Unit Information

  • Unit: Surgery (CVOR - Cardiovascular Operating Room)
  • Floor: 1st floor
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1 during night shift
  • Equipment Used:
    • Surgical instruments
    • Bovie cautery
    • EVH video tower
    • Laparoscopic video tower
    • Surgical tourniquet
    • IABP console
    • Impella console
    • Cryo system
    • Patient warming/cooling system
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
  • Permanent Positions Available: Yes, for CVOR CST (not for CVOR RNs)

  • CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting)
  • Aortic/Mitral Valve Repair/Replacement
  • AAA Endovascular & Open Repair
  • AV Fistula Creation/Revision/Thrombectomy
  • HDC (Hemodialysis Catheter)
  • CAPD (Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis)
  • BBT (Blood Bank Transfusion)
  • TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
  • TMVR (Transcatheter Mitral Valve Repair)
  • MitraClip procedures

Requirements

  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • Certified Surgical Technician (CST) Certification
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in CST specialty
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not specified (assumed not required)
