Cardiopulmonary Therapist - Contract Position

Location: Cody, Wyoming
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide respiratory care for patients ranging from birth to geriatric.
• Accountable for all respiratory care ordered by physicians.
• Operate, maintain, and monitor cardiopulmonary equipment including ventilators, oxygen devices, Vapotherm, PAP, etc.
• Administer inhaled medications and prescribed gases.
• Perform arterial, capillary, and venous sticks and testing; operate ABG instrument for blood gas analysis.
• Act as a clinical resource; assist with decision-making, assessment, treatment, and documentation of respiratory care.
• Review patient charts and obtain pertinent history prior to therapy or procedures.
• Perform accurate patient assessments and order appropriate therapies based on respiratory therapist evaluation and treatment protocols.
• Document patient assessments, care plans, evaluations, treatments, procedures, medications, equipment setup, supply charges, time outs for procedures, and critical values.
• Ensure physician orders are correct in EMR; verbal orders must be written per policy.
• Perform night shift duties as required by the cardiopulmonary department.
• Perform EKGs upon order or request.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Cardiopulmonary specialty.
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS/BCLS, PALS, NRP.
• Prior travel experience: Required.
• Must comply with a 100-mile radius rule (cannot have a permanent address within 100 miles of the facility).

Schedule

• Dayshift: 7 AM to 7 PM
• Start Date: January 26
