Interventional Radiology RN Opportunity

Location: Peoria, Illinois
Specialty: Interventional Radiology (IR)

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule & Shifts

• 4 days per week
• 9-hour shifts between 06:30 AM and 06:00 PM
• Not self-scheduling
• Call Requirements:

  • Primary and secondary call 6-8 shifts every 6 weeks (includes weekends)
  • Holiday call required; department closed on holidays
  • Call response time: 30 minutes

Department Details

• 6 labs/suites including pre-op and phase 2 recovery
• Average 20-30 cases per day
• Patient types: GI bleeds, strokes, biopsies, central lines, drains, vascular cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratios:

  • Intraprocedural: 1:1
  • Phase 2 recovery: up to 1:4
• Support staff: 1 Patient Care Technician (PCT)
• Charge RN present 07:30 AM - 05:00 PM (does not take patients, assists with cases and lunch coverage)

Required Certifications & Skills

• BLS, ACLS, PALS required
• EKG interpretation required
• Experience with drip titration required

Orientation & Training

• 5 days unit/department-specific orientation
• 12 non-billable orientation hours (guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation)

Equipment & EMR

• EPIC electronic medical record system
• Phillips monitors

• No floating required
• Surgical scrubs provided
• Drug-free campus with mandatory negative drug screen
• Local placements accepted within 50-mile radius

This position is ideal for RNs with interventional radiology experience who are comfortable with high-acuity cases and call responsibilities.
