Travel RN Opportunity - CVICU, Nashville, Tennessee
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Nashville, Tennessee
- Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
- Employment Type: Travel
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit Size: 16 beds
- Patient Ratios: 1:2, with 1:1 for certain device patients
- Staffing:
- Free floating charge nurse available to assist staff
- Unit secretary and Administrative Care Tech available Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
- Student Nurse Externs assist with tech duties on variable shifts
- Equipment: Phillips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, Alaris IV pumps
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Scheduling Requirements:
- 2 weekends per month
- 1 summer holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, or Labor Day)
- 2 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, or New Year’s Day)
- Floating Policy: Travel nurses float as needed, typically to other ICUs but may include other floors
- Dress Code: Scrubs in black, red, or galaxy blue; scrub jackets/vests only
Required Qualifications
- Licenses: Registered Nurse License
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Certification
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of critical care experience, including CVICU experience (highest required)
- Advanced Skills:
- Proficiency with PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring required
- Preferred experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT
- Procedures: Care for immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including ECMO, Centrimags, HM3 LVADs; perform central line insertion, Swan-Ganz catheter insertion, intubations on unit
