Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Rehab

Location: Harvey, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse - Rehab
  • Required Years of Experience: 1 year (Med Surg experience required; LTAC/SNF experience accepted)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required
  • Floating: Required
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Patient Ratios: 1:5-7
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Block schedule: Not accommodated
  • Locals accepted
  • Pending license: Not accepted
  • Return to Office Restrictions: 7 days max

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required for all candidates (AHA provider or AHA RQI accepted; RQI provider like Laerdal not accepted)
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM - Required or recommended only for specific RN/unit positions (verify if applicable)

Experience & Licensure

  • Must have at least 1 year of Med Surg experience (LTAC/SNF experience accepted)
  • Illinois state RN license required (Primary source verification within 30 days of assignment start)
  • NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start
  • Illinois Department of Public Health fingerprinting required if profession does not require an Illinois state license

Required Documents & Background Checks

  • Driver’s License or State ID
  • 7-year background check including aliases, sex offender, national and federal checks, FACIS III or equivalent
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
  • Education verification (ADN or BSN required) or diploma/transcripts if verification unavailable
  • Employment application and resume covering last 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
  • Employment verification for last 7 years (third party or in-house)
  • Skills checklist updated annually for assigned and float units
  • References: 2 required
  • Photo for badge (passport style, plain background, forward facing, no headgear)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
  • Fit mask test within 1 year (specific mask models required)
  • Negative 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity/vaccination for:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (declination allowed)
    • Varicella
  • Flu seasonal vaccination/documentation required for flu season (10/1 to 3/31), with facility-approved medical or religious exemptions only
  • COVID-19 vaccine exemptions require facility-specific religious or medical exemption forms submitted at least one week prior to documentation due date

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must complete all required documentation and background checks timely to avoid delays or removal from schedule
  • Fingerprinting must be completed in Illinois for those required
  • Prior travel experience is NOT required for this position

This position is suitable for RNs with at least 1 year of Med Surg experience looking for a travel contract in a rehab setting with floating responsibilities and weekend shifts every other weekend.
