Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Med Surgical) - Travel/Contract

Location: Harvey, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA provider or AHA RQI only (No RQI providers like Laerdal accepted)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for this position; AHA provider or AHA RQI only
• Preferred Certification: NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Med Surgical nursing
• Prior travel experience not required

Compliance & Background Checks

• 7-year background check including aliases, sex offender, national and federal criminal checks, FACIS III, education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Fingerprinting required only if no Illinois state license; must be completed in Illinois and added to the Illinois Department of Public Health Registry
• Education verification required for highest level of education (ADN or BSN mandatory for RN)
• Employment verification for last 7 years required
• 2 professional references required

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year (3M 1860, 1870+, or 9205+ masks accepted)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination or declination (within 10 years)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• TB questionnaire if positive TB test
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (declination allowed)
  • Varicella
• 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start, updated annually (no rapid drug screens)
• Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required for 2025-26 flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); religious or medical exemptions require facility approval

Facility Specific Requirements

• Passport-style photo for badge (plain background, forward facing, no headgear)
• COVID-19 and Influenza religious and medical exemption forms must be completed and approved at least one week prior to documentation due date if applicable
• Compliance with facility-specific background attestations and checklists

Additional Notes

• Skills checklist required annually for assigned and float units
• Employment application with detailed 7-year work history and explanation of any gaps longer than 30 days required
• Must have at least 1 year of specialty experience or comparable/higher acuity experience
• Prior travel experience is not required for this position
