Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Location: Harvey, Illinois

Job Description

• Assess acute changes in patients in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with chronic ventilator patients required
• Use of EKG and competency in rhythm strip interpretation required (must pass EKG strip test at orientation)
• Preferred experience with initiating and maintaining cardiac drips such as dobutamine, amiodarone, cardizem
• Patient ratio: 1:6
• Floating required
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Block scheduling not accommodated
• Charting system: Epic

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty (Telemetry)
• First-time travelers accepted
• Prior travel experience not explicitly required

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider or AHA RQI only (no other providers accepted)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required for this position; AHA provider or AHA RQI only
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM) recommended only for specific units, not required for this role

Licensure

• Valid Registered Nurse license for Illinois required
• Pending licenses not accepted

Scheduling & Restrictions

• Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: Maximum 7 days
• Locals accepted

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID
• Background checks including 7-year history, aliases, sex offender, national and federal checks, education verification, and international checks if applicable
• State license verification and NURSYS verification within 30 days of assignment start
• Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year (specific mask models required)
• Immunizations and titers (must be completed within 2 business days of contract signing):

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (if positive TB, chest X-ray and questionnaire required)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Hepatitis B (vaccination or declination)
  • Varicella (chickenpox)
• Drug testing: 9-panel minimum within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Flu seasonal vaccination/documentation required for flu season (10/1 to 3/31), with facility-approved religious or medical exemptions only
• Photo for badge (passport style, plain background, no headgear)

Additional Requirements

• Employment application including last 7 years of work history with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• Two professional references required
• Skills checklist for assigned and float units, updated annually
• Work history verification for 7 years required
• Illinois Department of Public Health fingerprinting required if profession does not require an Illinois state license (not applicable for RN)

Notes

• COVID-19 and Influenza vaccine exemption forms (religious and medical) must be completed and approved at least one week prior to documentation due date
• Facility does not accept attestations for background checks or education verification unless specified
• Floating to other units is required
