Travel RN Opportunity – BMT/Oncology (Cell Therapy/Transplant)

Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
Call Requirements: None


Unit Overview

  • Unit: Cell Therapy / Transplant (Unit #69477)
  • Number of Beds: 24
  • Staffing:
    • Day Shift: 1 CNC, 7 RNs, 2 PCTs
    • Night Shift: 1 CNC, 7 RNs, 1 PCT
  • Patient Ratios: 1:3 or 1:4
  • Equipment: Alaris pumps
  • EMR System: Meditech
  • Permanent Staff on Unit: 6

Job Requirements

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty (Oncology/BMT preferred)
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • Full ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate (15.25 contact hours) – fundamental certificate NOT accepted due to high chemo volume
  • Skills Required:
    • Oncology experience mandatory
    • Chemotherapy administration competency required (ONS/ONCC certified)
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) experience
    • CAR-T therapy experience
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Must adhere to strict chemotherapy handling policies (no pregnant or breastfeeding nurses administering chemo)
    • Detail-oriented and team player personality fit
    • No artificial or gel nails allowed
    • Masks required in patient care areas
    • Scrub color: Navy
