Description
Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Position Summary
- Accepting CRT or RRT credentials.
- Must have 2 years of experience in the specialty.
- Ohio RRT license required and must be in hand at time of submission.
- NBRC certification and AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Work schedule includes weekends as needed; may float to other respiratory facilities.
- Contract duration is 12 weeks.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Ohio RRT License (mandatory)
- NBRC Certification (CRT or RRT candidates)
- AHA BLS Certification (all candidates; AHA RQI acceptable but non-RQI preferred)
- ACLS (AHA only) required for RRTs working in Emergency Department
- PALS and NRP required for RRT-NICU (pediatric specialty)
- HIPAA Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual update required)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in respiratory therapy.
- Must include at least 2 years of clinical practice in an acute care setting similar to the assignment.
- No explicit prior travel experience required.
Compliance & Background Checks
- Criminal background check required prior to start; must be updated if break in service exceeds 2 months.
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start; must be completed ASAP as processing can take up to 30 days.
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
- Transcript/Diploma verification required.
- I9/E-Verify attestation required.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming ability to safely perform job functions.
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start; must be updated annually. Specific approved masks listed.
- Negative 2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold TB test/T-Spot within 6 months of start; annual renewal required.
- TB questionnaire if history of positive TB test.
- Immunization or titer proof required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (or signed declination)
- Varicella
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; annual renewal required.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31); no declinations accepted.
Onboarding & Training
- Completion of online training modules (4-5 hours) prior to start; must be done on a computer using Chrome.
- Modules include watching training videos before tests; skipping videos will lock out the candidate.
- Badge pickup required prior to start after module completion.
- Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start; annual update required.
- Unit-specific skills checklist required; annual update required.
Additional Notes
- Must carry valid government-issued photo ID while on assignment.
- All work history, including any previous positions at this healthcare system, must be included in the application.
- Two recent satisfactory pre-employment references required.
- Application must include 3 years of prior work history.
This position is ideal for respiratory therapists licensed in Ohio with at least 2 years of acute care experience, ready to work a 12-week travel contract with a reputable healthcare system.
