Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Arlington, Virginia
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each
Call Requirement: 8-12 days per month with 30-minute response time
Job Description
- Perform a variety of technical procedures using ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis.
- Responsible for designated areas and procedures within the Interventional Radiology Section.
- Must have thrombectomy experience.
Requirements
Licensure & Certification
- Must have a Virginia state license or proof of license application.
- Must have an active license from another state if not yet licensed in Virginia.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- ACLS certification required for Interventional Radiology.
- BLS preferred but not required.
- Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC) may be required depending on unit specifics—confirm with program management.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Special Procedures / Interventional Radiology.
- Thrombectomy experience is mandatory.

Immunization & Health Requirements
- COVID-19: Must be fully vaccinated or have a qualified exemption approved per CMS guidelines.

- Drug screening: Negative 11-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
- Fit mask test within last 12 months required (exceptions apply).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands.
Background & Compliance
- 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals.
- Education verification required.
- Work history verification for the past 7 years.
- Proof of 2 clinical references required.
- Performance evaluations if previously worked with the agency.
- Attestation of prior radiation exposure required for Interventional Radiology and related tech roles.
Additional Requirements & Documents
- Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service.
- Completion of facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreements, code of ethics, dress code, parking forms, and orientation acknowledgements prior to start.
- Facility badge and agency badge must be worn at all times.
- Completion of online and/or onsite orientation modules as required.
- Color blindness testing required prior to start.
- Medication/pharmacology competency exams and other core competency exams as applicable.
