Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist (OT) - Travel Position

Location: Richmond, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel


Job Details

  • Specialty: Occupational Therapy (OT)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: 8-hour shifts, anytime between 7:00 AM - 8:30 AM start through 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM end
  • Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, with rotating weekends (at least one per month)
  • Floating: May float to the acute hospital therapy department

Unit Information

  • Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation
  • Unit Size: 44 beds
  • Patient Ratios: 1 OT to 4-5 patients
  • Staffing: 10 OT/PT teams; 1 tech available
  • Equipment: Hoyer and Sara Lifts, multiple patient ceiling lifts, Bioness UE Functional E-Stim, BITS, Diego, XCITE Functional E-Stim, RT300 FES Bike, BariRehab Mat
  • Documentation System: Meditech Expanse
  • Patient Population: Approximately 60% neurological diagnoses, mix of other diagnoses
  • Patient Experience: Hospital-level inpatient rehab experience preferred; Stroke rehab experience preferred
  • Procedures: Neuro re-education with technology

Requirements

  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • Occupational Therapist License (state-specific)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • OTR Certification
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Occupational Therapy specialty (stroke rehab experience required)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

  • Dress Code: Black scrub pants and royal blue top
  • Team Environment: Mix of long-tenured and newer therapists; motivated and committed to learning and education
  • Certifications: Hospital holds DNV Stroke and Brain Tumor Certification; Joint Commission Rehab Stroke Certification
