Description

Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist - Oncology

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 15 weeks

Job Description

Independently perform a variety of radiation therapy treatments, simulations, treatment planning, and fabrication of specialized treatment aides according to physician prescriptions and instructions.
Provide oncology services for the island of Hawaii at a comprehensive cancer center.
Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan to assess and meet patient-specific needs.
Proficient operation of Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator and ARIA EMR system.
Treat 25-30 patients per day.
Treatment modalities include 3D, IMRT, SBRT, and electrons.
Set-ups cover all treatment sites.

Experience & Licensure Requirements

Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible imaging technologist/specialist experience with thorough knowledge of imaging procedures and/or techniques.
Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiation Therapy (T).
Current State of Hawaii Radiologic Technologist license as a Radiation Therapist.
BLS certification required.

Additional Information

Must have or obtain an active State of Hawaii license before starting the assignment.
Position may require working rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday.
Required certifications include ACLS, BLS/BCLS, PALS, and NRP.
