Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist - Oncology

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 15 weeks


Job Description

  • Independently perform a variety of radiation therapy treatments, simulations, treatment planning, and fabrication of specialized treatment aides according to physician prescriptions and instructions.
  • Provide oncology services for the island of Hawaii at a comprehensive cancer center.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan to assess and meet patient-specific needs.
  • Proficient operation of Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator and ARIA EMR system.
  • Treat 25-30 patients per day.
  • Treatment modalities include 3D, IMRT, SBRT, and electrons.
  • Set-ups cover all treatment sites.

Experience & Licensure Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible imaging technologist/specialist experience with thorough knowledge of imaging procedures and/or techniques.
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiation Therapy (T).
  • Current State of Hawaii Radiologic Technologist license as a Radiation Therapist.
  • BLS certification required.

Additional Information

  • Must have or obtain an active State of Hawaii license before starting the assignment.
  • Position may require working rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday.
  • Required certifications include ACLS, BLS/BCLS, PALS, and NRP.
