Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)
Location: Mayfield Heights, Ohio

Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. This is a travel/contract position requiring compliance with specific credentialing, certifications, and health requirements.
Required Experience
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 2 years clinical practice in an acute care setting based on application requirements.

Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for all candidates.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Preferred but not required for MS/Tele.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Not required.
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course): Preferred, not required.
- State Nursing License: Primary source verification within 30 days of start; must be current.
- Other: Annual Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement and Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for bedside RNs (except OR).
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam.
- Fit Mask (N95) test within 12 months, updated annually.
- Immunizations/vaccinations required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters if titers negative/equivocal.
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination.
- Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster if needed.
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season.
- Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually.
Background and Compliance Checks
- Government-issued photo ID required.
- Background check including FCRA compliant 7-year search, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks.
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting within 12 months, updated annually.
- Education verification required for all candidates.
- References: 2 references from employment within 1 year, from a manager or supervisor (no co-worker references).
- Employment application must include 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care.
Competency and Orientation
- Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome).
- Pass/Fail EKG and medication testing during orientation (retake available if needed).
- SafeMedicate preparation materials provided for review before orientation.
Additional Notes
- Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID while on assignment.
- Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing; candidates may start with results pending but must complete prior to extension.
- Physical exam must confirm ability to safely perform essential job functions.
- Facility accommodates latex allergies with notification.
- Candidates with gaps in employment longer than 40 days may need updated physical, chest X-ray, and eye exam.
- Religious and medical exemptions for vaccines are reviewed on a case-by-case basis; declinations are not accepted.
- Flu vaccine or exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31).
