Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract

Location: Clinton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Position: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)
• Setting: General ED with combined adult and pediatric patients
• Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours (1900-0730)
• Ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients
• Schedule Requirements:

  • Every other weekend required
  • Every other holiday required
  • Float within skillset required

Experience & Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
• Required Years of Experience: 2 years
• Prior Travel Experience: Required (must have completed at least 1 prior travel contract)
• General ED combined adult/pediatric experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred

Certifications & Skills

• Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:

  • Minimum overall score of 80%
  • 100% score on lethal rhythms section
• Required Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Preferred Certifications:

  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
  • MAB (Medication Administration by IV)
• Required Skills:

  • Triage
  • IV Starts
  • Phlebotomy

Compliance & Documentation

• Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
• Physical exam annually, confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframe
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Varicella documentation or titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• N95 Fit Test within 9 months and updated annually (not required for Sterile Processing Tech)
• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps

Additional Notes

• Locals within 60 miles may be accepted at a different rate
• Orientation and facility-specific modules required prior to start
• Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency required
• EKG competency exam must be updated annually with remediation if needed
• Float assignments within skillset expected

This position is ideal for experienced ED RNs with prior travel contract experience who are certified in ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS, and who are comfortable working in a combined adult/pediatric emergency department setting.
