Description
Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: San Angelo, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Start Date: Within the next 3-5 weeks
Schedule: Monday to Thursday with weekend and holiday call
Specialty & Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Operating Room)
- Years of Experience: 5 years preferred (may consider less if strong experience in specialties such as General, Neuro, Ortho, Trauma, Robotics)
- Work Environment: Fast-paced Operating Room
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or ARC accepted
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC accepted
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): AHA or ARC accepted; ICU RNs have 1 year to obtain for longer assignments
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure): Required as applicable
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course): Required as applicable; required for ER, ICU RNs have 1 year to obtain for longer assignments
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Required as applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification: Required for ICU and PCU as applicable
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy): Required as applicable
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course): Required as applicable
- State License Verification: Required within 30 days of start
- NURSYS Verification: Required within 30 days of start
- Tech Cert Verification - National: Required within 30 days of start
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement: Required, update annually
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing: Required
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check required within 30 days of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Education verification required
- Pass/Fail testing during orientation (includes Medication Administration, Restraint, Glucometer tests)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
- Competency Exam as applicable
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
- Fit mask test within 6 months prior to start; annual updates required
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year of start; TB questionnaire required annually
- Immunizations required (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing):
- Rubeola (Measles) – positive titer or 2 vaccines
- Mumps – positive titer or 2 vaccines
- Rubella – positive titer or 2 vaccines
- Hepatitis B – positive titer or series with declination form if applicable
- Varicella – positive titer, 2 vaccines, or proof of disease
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
- Flu seasonal vaccination or facility-specific declination during flu season (10/31-3/31)
- COVID initial series required (boosters not required)
- Drug testing required within 30 days (includes multiple substances)

- Completion of various facility-specific forms prior to start, including:
- Non-Employee Information Form
- Vaccine Exemption Form (if applicable)
- Applicant Health Record Form
- Code of Conduct and Compliance Form

- Non-Employee Orientation Update Form
