Job Opportunity: Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Details

• Shift: Days, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 2 patients
• Unit Details:

  • 14 rooms
  • 16 beds
• Float Requirements: May float to ICU, IMC, Tele as needed

Experience Requirements

• Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required
• Travel Experience: Prior travel experience is required

Required Skills & Certifications

• Charting System: Epic (experience required)
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Additional certifications may be required as applicable (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, CPI, MAB)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Valid state nursing license with primary source verification
• Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Education verification (transcript or diploma acceptable if verification pending)
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start

• Must be able to provide a clear headshot photo for badge

• Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
• 7-year work history verification required
• Candidates residing in certain Texas counties are not eligible for this travel assignment

This position is ideal for experienced Neuro ICU nurses with prior travel experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced ICU environment using Epic charting.
