Job Details

  • Position: Vascular Ultrasound Technologist (RVT)
  • Experience: Vascular ultrasound experience required

  • Floating: No (will not float between units)
  • On-call: Yes, weeknight and weekend call required
  • Weekend Shifts: Yes, will cover Saturday shift for maternity leave

Required Experience

  • Specialty Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year in vascular ultrasound (RVT)

Certifications & Licenses

  • State License: Required (professional license copy needed)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Must be AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certified
  • BLS (Basic Life Support): Must be AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certified
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): May be required depending on clinical track
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure): May be required depending on clinical track
  • Other certifications (e.g., Chemotherapy, EFM, IV Certification, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI) may be required based on clinical track and specialty
  • Verification of certifications through credentialing system required

Compliance & Background Checks

  • Background Check: Within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
  • State-specific searches and abuse/neglect checks as applicable
  • Education Verification: Required for all candidates
  • Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting
  • Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format
  • Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Immunizations & Health Documents:
    • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria) within 10 years or declination
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
    • COVID vaccine or declination
  • Respirator Fit Test: Required for travel candidates, updated annually
  • Other health and safety compliance as per facility and state regulations

Training & Competency Requirements

  • Competency Exams: Required as applicable by profession/specialty
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required as applicable
  • Color Blind Testing: May be required on a unit basis
  • Skills Checklists: Required annually for applicable units
  • Facility-specific training modules (WorkRamp) required prior to start, including:
    • Core regulatory modules
    • Specialty-specific modules (if applicable)
    • Regional and facility-specific modules
  • Epic Training Modules: Required for candidates working with Epic system; must be completed within a week of orientation

  • Float Policy: Acknowledgement required; traveler may be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
  • Badge Photo: Passport-style photo with neutral background required for badge issuance
