Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - Vascular

Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Vascular Sonographer)

Job Details

  • Position: Outpatient Vascular Sonographer
  • Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday), 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
  • No weekends or on-call required
  • Holiday work may be required once per 13-week contract if the facility is open
  • Must have Philips ultrasound experience
  • Must be a strong Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), able to work independently and float if needed
  • First-time travelers not accepted
  • Local candidates not accepted

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • VT (Vascular Technology) ARDMS - required
  • RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) ARDMS or CCI-RVS - preferred

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Vascular Sonographer)
  • Required years of experience: Not explicitly stated (default to standard for RVT roles, typically 1-2 years minimum)
  • Prior travel experience: Required (Accept First-Time Travelers: No)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • I9 or attestation required
  • Valid Driver’s License/State ID with address more than 100 miles from facility required within 48 hours of signing
  • E-Verify or attestation required
  • 7-year background check within 1 year of start (covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
  • Education verification of highest earned degree required
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming freedom from communicable diseases
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Required immunizations or positive titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Flu vaccination documentation or mask/declination form during flu season
  • 2 clinical references required
  • Complete employment application/resume required
  • Skills checklist updated annually

Additional Notes

  • Candidate must review and acknowledge the Contract Staff Orientation Manual prior to start
  • Photo for badge required (professional picture with plain background)
  • No call off more than 1 shift per 2 weeks allowed
  • Must comply with facility-specific compliance and confidentiality agreements within 48 hours of signing
  • Prior travel experience is mandatory; first-time travelers will not be accepted

This position is ideal for experienced vascular sonographers with prior travel contract experience looking for a 6-month travel assignment with a consistent weekday schedule and no weekends or on-call duties.
