Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Temp

Location: Brattleboro, Vermont
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Assess respiratory status of patients of all ages (neonatal, pediatric, adult, geriatric)
  • Provide emergency response and handle rapid responses and medical emergencies
  • Manage mechanical ventilation and maintain stable airway for ventilated patients
  • Perform invasive and noninvasive respiratory procedures
  • Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, including arterial blood gas system
  • Perform arterial blood gas draws
  • Patient care settings include ER, Birthing Center, Surgical Unit, and PCU (high acuity)
  • Patient conditions may include RSV, asthma, sleep apnea, COPD

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 months current experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in a hospital setting
  • Ability to work independently as the sole RRT on duty
  • Ability to provide ventilator care to maintain stable airway
  • Ability to perform arterial blood gas draws (required)
  • Ability to intubate independently (highly preferred)

Certifications (All Required)

  • Active National Board for Respiratory Care Certification
  • American Heart Association ACLS
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • American Heart Association NRP
  • American Heart Association PALS
  • Flu vaccination

Additional Information

  • Position is in a rural area with limited housing and public transportation options
  • Candidates should plan accordingly for housing and transportation
  • Locals within 50 miles are accepted
