Description

Job Opportunity: RN - Float (Travel)

Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: Nights, 7 PM - 7:30 AM
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Summary

The Registered Nurse coordinates and implements patient care tailored to the age of the patient population on assigned units. The RN ensures quality, efficient, and safe care consistent with unit standards. The role requires professionalism, respect, and effective communication with staff, physicians, patients, and families.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
    • BLS & ACLS Certification from AHA
    • NRP Certification
  • Certifications must be current at time of hire and maintained without grace period for renewal.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the RN specialty
  • No explicit requirement for prior travel experience indicated

Skills and Knowledge

  • Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the patient population served
  • Sensitivity to patients’ rights in care delivery
  • Clear and age-appropriate communication skills

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases
  • Clean, well-lighted, ventilated, smoke-free environment
  • Ability to handle emergency/crisis situations
  • Prolonged standing and walking; heavy physical effort required for patient positioning and equipment handling
  • Physical abilities include reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, good peripheral vision, color distinction, normal or correctable hearing and vision, manual dexterity, and fine motor coordination

Supervision

Reports to Patient Care Director or Manager


This position offers a night shift travel nursing opportunity requiring a minimum of 1 year RN experience with specific certifications and physical stamina to work in a dynamic healthcare environment.
