Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical)

Job Details

• Shift: Medical Surgical Nights
• Unit welcomes first-time travelers
• Minimum 1 year of specialty experience required
• Scrubs: Any color, no logos
• Float required to like units or helping hands to unlike units
• Every other weekend coverage

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – mandatory
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – as applicable
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – as applicable
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – as applicable
• CHEMO (Chemotherapy) – as applicable
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – as applicable
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) – as applicable
• NIH Stroke Certification – as applicable (expires annually)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – as applicable

Required Verifications and Competencies

• Primary source online verification of state license
• NURSYS Verification for RN
• Education verification (highest level)
• Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Fingerprinting onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
• Competency exams as applicable (minimum passing score 80%)
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Color Blind Testing (online)

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
• Adult TDAP vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• TB questionnaire for positive results (annual renewal)
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
• Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
• Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required

• I9, Driver’s License/State ID, and E-Verify required
• References: Internal only; not required for clearance

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• Orientation and EPIC training can be attended pending fingerprint clearance, but no unit work until clearance is received.
• This unit is open to first-time travelers.
