Description

Job Opportunity: RN - Tele (Travel)

Location: Alamogordo, New Mexico
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Patient Population

Medical, surgical, respiratory patients
Also includes Behavioral Health, Joint, Emergency Department float requirements

Shift & Schedule

Night shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
Weekend requirement: 6 shifts per 6-week period
Call requirement: 2 call shifts per 6-week period
Float requirement: as needed

Job Summary

Practice independently in a similar clinical setting
Provide routine and complex nursing care
Manage clinical contingencies and long-range care plans
Delegate and assign tasks to other care providers appropriately

Responsibilities

Meet applicable nursing competencies (Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders)
Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor side effects and effectiveness
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers

Requirements

Education & Licenses

Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
Current RN license in New Mexico or compact license
Current BLS certification (AHA only) required
Current ACLS certification (AHA only) required

Experience

Minimum 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty required (Medical/Surgical, Respiratory)
Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Orientation & Competency

New hires receive preceptorship and complete organizational and MedSurg-specific competency validations
Newly licensed RNs may participate in residency or specific orientation programs
Completion of annual competency verifications required
