Job Opportunity: RN - Oncology (Travel)
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Employment Type: Travel
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (Clinical Nurse I-IV) coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units. Ensures quality care is provided efficiently and safely, consistent with unit standards. Demonstrates professionalism, respect, and effective communication with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
Licenses & Certifications
- Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license.
- BLS Certification from AHA.
- ACLS Certification from AHA.
- NRP Certification required.
- Chemotherapy Certification required.
- Certifications must be current at time of hire and maintained without grace period for renewal.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the RN specialty (Oncology).
- No prior travel experience explicitly required.
Skills & Knowledge
- Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the patient population served.
- Sensitivity to patients’ rights in care delivery.
- Clear and age-appropriate communication skills.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases.
- Clean, well-lighted, ventilated, smoke-free environment.
- Subject to stressful professional relationships and variable working hours with flexibility for emergencies.
- Physical demands include prolonged standing/walking, heavy lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching.
- Requires good visual and hearing acuity, manual dexterity, and fine motor coordination.
Shift
- 8 AM to 5 PM
This position is ideal for an RN with oncology experience seeking a travel assignment in New Mexico with a 12-13 week commitment.
