Job Opportunity: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Warrensville Heights, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Med/Surg Telemetry)
• Shift: Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 or 48 hour option)
• Experience Required: Minimum 18 months recent and permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience (highest requirement)
• Licensing: Must have permanent Ohio nursing license or compact state license in hand
• Certifications Required:

  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• Additional Requirements:

  • Must work at least every other holiday
  • ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate pass required during orientation
  • PBDS Assessment waived

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-Issued Photo ID: Must carry while on assignment
• Background Checks:

  • FCRA compliant 7-year search including SSN trace, counties, states, nationwide, sex offender, OFAC, FACIS Level 3, education verification
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Fingerprinting:

  • FBI and BCI fingerprint results required within 12 months of start, updated annually
  • Must be completed within 48 hours of signed contract
  • Fingerprints done under code 4723.09 (Nursing)
  • Facility will conduct additional fingerprinting onsite
• Education Verification: Required for all candidates
• References: Two references from employment within one year of start, from Manager, ANM, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director (no co-worker references)
• Employment Application: Must include 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar area
• Skills Checklist: Required annually

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam (required for new candidates signing 4/11/2025 or later)
• Fit Mask: N95 fit test within 12 months, updated annually (3M N95 1860 small/regular or 1870+)
• Immunizations:

  • Tdap vaccine every 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Negative TB test (2-step PPD or QGold/TSPOT) or chest X-ray if past positive, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer, booster if negative/equivocal
  • Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or declination documentation
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer, booster if negative/equivocal
  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/31 - 03/31)
• Drug Testing: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant tests not accepted)

Orientation & Training

• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
• Pass/Fail ECG and medication testing during orientation (SafeMedicate)
• Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual and pass/fail testing required
• Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Candidates must be prepared to complete all onboarding and compliance requirements timely to avoid delays
• Candidates with gaps in employment or returning to the facility may have specific re-orientation or documentation requirements
