Description

Job Opportunity: Dietician - Nutrition (Travel)

Location: El Paso, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Shift, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Employment Type: Travel

Unit Information

Unit Size: 350 beds
Staffing: 4 Full-Time Registered Dietitians (RDs) in department, including a Clinical Nutrition Manager (CNM); 2 full-time positions currently open
Shift Coverage: Day shift need for 1 Clinical Dietitian; no night shift coverage required
Patient Load: Average 10-15 patients per day
Communication Tools: iPhones for team communication
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Permanent Positions: Available on unit

Job Requirements

Certification: Registered Dietitian (RD) Certification required
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as a Dietitian (Nutrition specialty)
Prior Travel Experience: Not specified (assumed not required)

Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:
- Critical care experience
- Experience with adult and geriatric populations
Preferred:
- NICU experience (to support NICU RD during PTO)

Nutrition-focused physical exams

Work Environment & Culture

Collaborative work with multidisciplinary healthcare team including MDs, RNs, Speech-Language Pathologists, Diabetes Educators, and Case Managers
Flexibility to cover patients throughout the facility

Nutrition Consult reflex triggered when Wound Care is consulted (Best Practice Initiative)
Use of iMobile communication app for timely nutrition recommendations with providers and healthcare team
Experienced leadership: CNM and senior RD each with 10+ years at the facility
Order-writing privileges for oral supplements, diet downgrades, and enteral nutrition modifications after MD orders
RD office located outside of Dietary department
