Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Clinton, Maryland

Job Details

• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, 19:00 - 07:30
• Unit: ICU with float to Medical-Surgical (MS), MS/Telemetry, and Intermediate Care (IMC) as needed
• Schedule: Every other weekend required
• Start Date: ASAP

Experience & Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (ICU)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required for MS/Tele and ICU units
• Competency Exams:

  • Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Additional Requirements:

  • Float capability to MS, MS/Tele, and IMC units
  • Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
  • Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps
  • Skills checklist and competency exams updated annually

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within the last year (with annual updates if history positive)
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or signed declination)
• Tdap vaccine within the last 10 years preferred
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• Drug screening within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), updated annually if applicable
• N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and annually thereafter (not required for Sterile Processing Tech)

Background & Documentation

• Criminal background check within 90 days including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Education verification for highest degree required by position
• Employment application with complete 7-year work history, no gaps
• Two positive supervisory references, including one from most recent assignment
• Various attestations and facility-specific documents required prior to start

Additional Notes

• Locals within 60 miles may be accepted at a different rate (not applicable here)
• Orientation and facility-specific modules must be completed before start date
• Annual acknowledgment of safety manual required
