Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: 02/16/2026
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience in Emergency Department (ED)
- First-time travelers accepted
- Prior travel experience: Not required
Licenses & Certifications Required
- Maryland RN State License
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - required as applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification - must be current and updated annually
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - preferred
- Other certifications may be required as applicable (e.g., NRP, CHEMO, EFM, STABLE)
Work Schedule & Requirements
- Every other weekend required
- Holidays required as scheduled
- Floating within specialty as needed
- No pre-scheduled on-call shifts required
- Patient ratio: 1:4, up to 1:5 with lower acuity
- Patient age range: All ages (infants to geriatrics)
- Patient diagnoses: Variety of complex cases including behavioral health and trauma
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- I9 or Attestation
- Government Issued Photo ID
- Background checks including 7-year criminal search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, education verification
- Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (including Latex Screen)
- Fit test within 1 year of start (specific mask models accepted)
- Immunizations and titers:
- TDAP (required for units working with children)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella - positive titer or vaccination proof
- Hepatitis B - positive titer or declination (series not accepted)
- Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
- Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/6-3/31)
- COVID vaccine not required for this location, but documentation collected for tracking
Competency Exams (as applicable)
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam
- Color Blind testing
- Age-specific competency exam
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam
Additional Notes
- Two supervisory references required within 1 year of start
- Previous 5 years of employment history verification required (attestation accepted)
- Candidate must sign job description and confidentiality agreements prior to start
- Badge photo required (passport style with solid white/beige background)
- Various facility-specific documents and checklists must be completed prior to start
