Job Opportunity: Rehabilitation Therapy - Acute/Inpatient Physical Therapist

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)

Job Description

• Primary focus on acute inpatient rehabilitation therapy with secondary coverage in ICF/SNF rehab settings.
• Responsibilities include evaluating and re-evaluating assigned residents/patients, planning and implementing ongoing therapeutic physical therapy programs as prescribed by attending physicians or consulting specialists.
• Provide consulting physical therapy services as needed.
• Must be available to work shifts, weekends, and holidays based on hospital operations.
• Work schedule is variable and may include:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Tuesday to Saturday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Sunday to Thursday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Use of EMR system: Meditech.

Requirements

• Licensure: Must have an active Hawaii state license by the start of the assignment. Travelers without an active license must apply immediately upon acceptance of the offer.
• Experience: Minimum of 6 months work experience in at least one of the following adult care settings:

  • Acute care
  • Rehabilitation hospital
  • Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)
• Certifications: BLS/BCLS required.
• Additional Notes:

  • Must arrive the Thursday before the start date to attend an employee health appointment on Friday.
  • Do not accept the start date if unable to arrive on time.
