Description

Job Opportunity: Tele Float Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Huntington, West Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Position: Telemetry RN
  • Schedule: 3x12 hour night shifts
  • Float Pool assignment primarily in Cardiac, Telemetry, and Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Must have strong skills in Cardiac, Telemetry, and PCU nursing

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1+ year of experience as a Registered Nurse in the specialty
  • No prior travel experience explicitly required

Certifications Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only

Licensure & Verification

  • Active State Nursing License (Primary Source Verification required)
  • NURSYS verification required for all RNs
  • Government issued photo ID required and must be carried during hours of service

Background Checks & Compliance

  • 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Background check required within 90 days of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for every contract renewal/extension
  • Education verification and transcript/diploma required for all new candidates

Competency Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam within 6 months of start
  • Competency Exam within 6 months of start
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA compliance)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (medical or religious exemptions only)
  • Negative TB test (QGold or T-Spot within 6 months, chest X-ray if history of positive TB)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (2nd booster can pend at start)
  • Hepatitis B: Surface antibody and antigen titer within 6 months, vaccination series or declination form required
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (2nd booster can pend at start)
  • Hepatitis A: Negative titer within 6 months
  • Hepatitis C: Antibody titer within 6 months
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccine required annually (medical or religious exemptions require approval and documentation)
  • COVID-19 seasonal vaccine required; initial series preferred (declination form required if opting out)
  • Drug testing required within 30 days of start and updated annually (LabCorp only)

Documentation & Forms

  • New hire forms, confidentiality agreement, standards of behavior, IT access, OSHA post-test, voluntary self-identification, COVID form, hospital policies review, and various vaccine exemption forms must be completed prior to start
  • TB Screening Questionnaire required with one-year expiration
  • Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Complete employment application/resume
  • Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
