Job Opportunity: RN - Telemetry

Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: Cardiac Medical Unit (Cardiac step-down from CSSU and IVCU, med/surg telemetry, stroke overflow)
• Number of Beds: 20
• Patient Ratios: 5:1
• Staffing: 4 RN teams with free CNC, 2 LNA’s, and a Unit Clerk
• Equipment: IV pumps, Sara Steady’s, Hi-flow, BiPAP, Kangaroo pumps
• Documentation System: Meditech Expanse
• Scheduling: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, every other weekend or 4-week shift rotation
• Floating Policy: Not specified
• Patient Experience: Bedside shift rounds and handoff required

Clinical & Procedural Details

• Patient Population: Cardiac patients excluding post Cath lab patients unless radial artery used; includes chest pain rule out, CHF, COPD, stroke overflow
• Procedures Performed: Thoracentesis, Peritoneal Dialysis (PD), Tracheostomies, Pacemakers, Cardiac Catheterization, CIWA protocol
• Required Skills: Proficient in telemetry monitoring
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Certification
• Licenses: Registered Nurse License required

Experience Requirements

• Years of Experience in Specialty: Minimum 2 years
• Prior Travel Experience: Not specified / not required
