Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technologist
Location: Northampton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Responsible for planning, preparing, and maintaining surgical instrumentation and the surgical field peri-operatively.
- Perform related post-operative activities including room and instrument decontamination.
- Call required:
- 1 weekday per week from 5 PM to 7 AM
- 1 weekend day per month from 7 AM to 7 AM
- Additional call may be required
- Works under Nurse Manager, Operating Room, following organizational and departmental policies.
- Experience preferred with general surgery, orthopedics, and gynecology.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an approved surgical technology program.
- Certification in Surgical Technology (CST) from NBSTSA or NCCT.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross BLS certification.
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Certified Surgical Technologist

- Criminal background checks including Massachusetts CORI, national sex offender check, exclusion checks, and SSN trace.
- Resume with past 7 years of work experience.
- Two recent references, including at least one supervisor or above.
- Skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet required.
Additional Notes
- Must comply with all organizational credentialing and onboarding requirements prior to start.
- No religious or medical exemptions allowed for flu vaccine or fit testing.
- Some optional but strongly preferred vaccinations include Hepatitis B and Tdap.
