Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technologist

Location: Northampton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Responsible for planning, preparing, and maintaining surgical instrumentation and the surgical field peri-operatively.
• Perform related post-operative activities including room and instrument decontamination.
• Call required:

  • 1 weekday per week from 5 PM to 7 AM
  • 1 weekend day per month from 7 AM to 7 AM
  • Additional call may be required
• Works under Nurse Manager, Operating Room, following organizational and departmental policies.
• Experience preferred with general surgery, orthopedics, and gynecology.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of an approved surgical technology program.
• Certification in Surgical Technology (CST) from NBSTSA or NCCT.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross BLS certification.

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Certified Surgical Technologist

Certifications & Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background checks including Massachusetts CORI, national sex offender check, exclusion checks, and SSN trace.
• Resume with past 7 years of work experience.
• Two recent references, including at least one supervisor or above.
• Skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet required.

Additional Notes

• Must comply with all organizational credentialing and onboarding requirements prior to start.
• No religious or medical exemptions allowed for flu vaccine or fit testing.
• Some optional but strongly preferred vaccinations include Hepatitis B and Tdap.
