Description

Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Specialty: Registered Nurse (ICU)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • ICU RN position with float responsibilities to ICU and Intermediate Care (IMC) units
  • Weekend coverage required as needed
  • Shift: 3x12 (1850-0720)

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience (highest required)
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • Exams:
    • Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:
      • Minimum overall score of 80%
      • 100% score on lethal rhythms section
  • Other:
    • First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)
    • Float to ICU and IMC required

Compliance & Documentation

  • Valid state nursing license required prior to start
  • Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
  • Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
  • Immunizations and health documentation required:
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
    • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
    • Varicella documentation or titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
  • E-Verify and I9 documentation required upon hire
  • Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start

Competencies & Testing

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score ≥ 80%) within 3 years
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (Relias Dysrhythmia Basics A) within 1 year, updated annually
  • Color blindness testing (online or in-person)
  • Other unit-specific certifications may be required based on assignment

Additional Notes

  • Two positive supervisory references required, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
  • Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
  • Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function
