Job Opportunity: Step Down Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Weekend Requirement: Work every third weekend
• On-call: Not required
• Floating: Will float within scope as needed

• Locals: Not accepted within 100-mile radius
• Pending License: Accepted
• Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

All certifications must be current and from AHA or ARC; RQI accepted where applicable. Certificate of completion alone is not accepted.

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background check within 1 year required (including MN Statewide Search and other standard checks)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 1 year
• Fingerprinting via Minnesota DHS Net Study mandatory before start; candidates cannot start with fingerprints pending unless approved "More Time Needed" letter is provided
• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start required
• Drug testing (9 panel) within 1 year required (not required for client clearance)
• Respiratory Safety clearance (RespSafety virtual questionnaire) required prior to start for fit testing
• Photo for badge: Passport-style headshot required within 48 hours of signing contract

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Adult Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) vaccine required; declinations not accepted without approved exemption
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months required; TB results must be on file no later than 3 days after start
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer required; no exemptions accepted for patient-facing roles
• Hepatitis B: Positive IGG titer, proof of series, or signed declination required
• Varicella: Positive IGG titer or 2 vaccines required; no exemptions accepted
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination documentation required for 2025-2026 season; declinations accepted, exemptions not accepted

Competency & Skills

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required
• Annual Skills Checklist required

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete assigned pre-orientation online modules within 72 hours of receiving login; modules take 3-9 hours depending on specialty
• Must comply with Allina Health uniform guidelines (Navy Blue scrubs; EMTs wear teal)
• References are not required for client clearance but must be on file for Per Diem candidates
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
