Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Maryville, Tennessee
Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend

Job Requirements

• Specialty: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Required Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Additional Experience: Must have experience in adult critical care and emergency department settings
• Epic Experience: At least 1 year of EPIC system experience required
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Tennessee State RRT License

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Work Environment & Systems

• Medication dispensing systems used: Pyxis and Omnicell
• Respirator fit testing will be completed onsite during orientation

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • 7-year background check within 12 months of start date
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and every 30 days thereafter
  • Fingerprinting may be required depending on residency and state history
• Education Verification: Highest level of education must be verified (diplomas not accepted as placeholders)
• Licenses: Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start
• Drug Testing: 5-panel drug screen within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands
  • Immunizations and titers including:

    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if working in high-risk areas)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B documentation or declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required (not required for 100% remote workers)
• Competency Exams:

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required annually
  • Core training parts I, II, and III required annually (including OSHA, patient safety, cultural diversity, etc.)
• Pass/Fail Testing: Medication and arrhythmia tests required for RNs and certain tech roles; two attempts allowed with an 84% passing score
• Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo with specific background and lighting requirements

Orientation & Training

• Completion of online modules (approx. 12 hours) within 72 hours of assignment
• 16 hours of non-billable orientation onsite
• Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., TNCC, ENPC, CPI, MAB)

Summary

This is a travel contract opportunity for an experienced Respiratory Therapist with at least 2 years of RRT experience, including adult critical care and emergency department exposure.
